Is manipulating mass murder into political and commerical propaganda truely remembering?

The sixth anniversary of the September 11 attacks is coming up. Since that horrific day I have seen the slogan “Never Forget” all over the place. I think its good that we honor those who we have lost in that tragedy. Where I am lost is how we have apparently forgotten people murdered by the same —holes before and after September 11, 2001? Today when something does happen 9/11 is plastered all over the incident and patriotism is stepped up. The same happens every holiday and anniversary of this horrific crime. Are we honestly remembering and honoring those who are lost when this tragedy is politicized and commercialized?
Thanks Kermit:)

I am looking for some good murder mystery books. So far I haven’t seen anyone better than Agatha Christie. I’d like to know of others who may be just as good.
Sincere, polite, relevant responses only please.
I am mainly interested in authors who write fiction, although I also like true crime stories.

I’m planning my friend’s sixteenth birthday party for her. She wants a “murder mystery” themed party. The only problem is I’m not really sure how to do that. Anyone have any ideas?
