How can I host a murder mystery party for free?

I’ve been dying to host one of these murder mystery parties, but every time I try to find a way to go about having one, I always have to purchase a kit of some sort. I would really love it if anyone knew of a way in which I could find a way in which I don’t have to purchase anything.
