After a week of competing in the nation’s most prestigious beauty
pageant, the contestants, judges and coaches are invited to a
pre-pageant party the night before the final round of competition.

With the crown on the line, everyone seems desperate to gain the competitive
edge on their rivals… and for one guest that means murder!

Will it be the whiny Miss Wisconsin who is obsessed with winning?
The ambitious Miss Alabama whose acting career is at stake?
The tawdry Miss Texas who uses her sexuality to get ahead?
Or possibly the reigning queen who does not want to give up her crown.

With a pageant that has been plagued with scandal from its beginning,
there is no reason this year should be any different.

After a voyage filled with pillaging and plundering, the Jaded Jewel–a pirate ship
captained by Redbeard, an old but dangerous pirate–is docked in a cove near Port Royal.
As the pirates head into town to celebrate their homecoming and spend their gold and goods, a night of turmoil and trouble is sure to transpire.

As the night quickly steers out of control, one guest meets a tragic demise and ends up in
Davy Jones’ Locker leaving the rest of the party goers to bring the guilty to the gallows.

Is the culprit the profiteering pirate organizing a mutiny? Or, the saucy sea mistress who wanted more than a casual commitment? The perpetrator could be the swashbuckling swordsman desperate to win the love of the governor’s daughter, or possibly the treasure seeking seaperson incapable of sharing.

In a harbor village filled with backstabbers and buccaneers looking to get ahead,
there is little reward for honesty and a high price to pay for deceit.

Murder Mystery Parties are parties where people act out their own little murder mystery.  Usually a day or two before the party the host will give “information packets” to the people coming to the party.  These packets contain information about the character that you will be playing in the murder mystery.  You will receive information like: character name, history, habits, hobbies and other things that will help you portray the character.  Some parties even take it a step further and have people come dressed up as their character.

There are many different “Murder Mystery Party” kits that come with everything you need to host your own party.  Many of them are also “theme” driven.  I’ve been to parties based around a Hawaiian Luau, a class reunion, a western theme and I’ve seen games in the store of about any theme you can think of.

The only bad thing about this is the host doesn’t get to “play”, they have to set everything up and run the show.  This is where you come in.  You can start your own business running these murder mystery parties for people.  There is little to no start up costs since you don’t need a storefront since most parties will be held in the customers house or business.
