Does anyone know any great murder mystery novels?

I am really looking to read a good murder mystery. I don’t care how cruel or gruesome it is either. The more the better, actually. And while I’m at it, do you also know any great novels with envolve horses?

Try “The Red House Mystery” by A.A. Milne. It can be hard to find, but well worth the read!

You are in luck! There’s a writer named Dick Francis who is considered a master at mystery writing, many of which are murder mysteries. AND all of his books center around horses! He used to be a jockey, and writes a lot about the horseracing industry. I absolutely love his books. He’s actually written about 35-40, so you shouldn’t have any problem finding one you like! : )

Well - as one post already mentioned - Dick Francis for horses.

But other great murder mystery authors are: James Patterson (has two detective series out, as well as individual mystery books); Mary Higgins Clark (dubbed ‘Queen of Suspense’ by many critics, and actually just came out with a new book two days ago) and finally Janet Evanovich (she writes a Stephanie Plum series, it is murder mystery with a chick lit. twist and is drop-dead hilarious at times, begins with ‘One for the Money’).

These are my top three favourites in the murder mystery genre. Of course, there are many, many more.
