Why is no one going to be charged with murder regarding the Walmart stampeding death?

At least manslaughter. One could argue that it was intentional since the glass doors were shattered with pressure and the metal hinges were bent to get through them. On top of that, the shoppers just walked over the dead body to get to the store bargains— Sick…

Most of those people should be charged with manslaughter at least or sentenced to community service. I thought stores like this had video cameras?

I am not fully sure but my guess is they are taking their time to try to gather evidence, review footage, talk to witnesses, etc. Even if there are charges I doubt it’d be murder. If anything it’d be manslaughter or wreckless endangerment or something like that. Murder often needs to show someone did something with intent to kill I think.

Because there were so many people, and its not a crime to accidently knock someone down. It was the people running over that person in a stampede that killed him. Picture yourself in that crowd, be realistic. Thousands of people stampeding through the store. You just see the persons head in front of you, and probably don’t even realize that lump you tripped over was a human. Who could possibly think that a person was on the ground and nobody was helping. And I am sure some people did see the worker and thought for sure that someone else was going to help. Really sick though. And really ashame that this poor temp agency employee probably lost his life while working for $6 an hour or something. Horrible. It’s too bad that some people were so greedy to get those specials that they had a one track mind and stopped for nothing.

Can you pick out the one(s) who did it? Nope.

Because a crowd of people in which no one individual has much if any control must be assumed to be an unfortunate accident owing to the shear volume of greedy shoppers- perhaps something could be made of the nature of such a contest by the business that initiated it?

They cannot charge any one person as which one person do they hold responsible. These greedy, worthless crowd of people were so overcome by getting in the store, they caused damage to a store which caused death to an employee.

This is to “gatoamor82″: It could be a crime to knock someone over, especially in this case since it was not like someone tripped into him. And this wasnt accidental, people stampeded into the store. What is accidental about that? But, there is negligence (or recklessness, which is worse) in this case. If you trip someone and they get hurt, that person can sue you for negligence (or even recklessness) and win. And, depending on the circumstances, both compensatory and punitive damages can be sued for.
This is sick. See what religion can do to you? People NEEEED presents to keep their kids happy, huh. These people should be shipped to a small island with no survival supplies. Lets keep our society free of these monsters!
And also for everybody saying that crowds cant be held responsible: you are right (I think) that an entire crowd cant be held responsible. BUT, with every out of control crowd comes instigators and people that contribute heavily to the out of controllable crowd. I think this has to do with a leader starting an irrational panic.

I doubt that Wal-Mart even knows who was in the crowd. At the Wal-Mart I worked in they didn’t have video tapes inside the cameras.

It was not murder. It was not even manslaughter. There was no intent. Mobs cannot be controlled. Those in front were being pushed by those behind.
